Affiliate relationships

We have no active affiliate partnerships. We do not currently earn commissions or other compensation from any company if you click a link or buy something after reading this site. If that changes, we will say so on this page and place a clear note next to each affected link.

Advertising

The site may show advertising, such as Google AdSense, once it is enabled. Advertising is separate from our articles and the calculator. Advertisers do not decide what we write, and ads do not change how results are calculated. An ad is not an endorsement by us.

How content is produced

Content is reviewed by Numerlyn LLC before it is published.

We explain methods in plain language and show the arithmetic of worked examples so you can check them.
Statements about taxes name the IRS source and tax year where applicable; where a figure could not be confirmed, we describe it loosely or leave it out.
Rules of thumb, such as the 70% rule, are labeled as rules of thumb.
Example numbers are illustrations, not market data, unless a source is named.

Independence

We do not accept payment to recommend lenders, contractors, agents or other services, and we do not review products in exchange for compensation. The articles are educational and do not recommend any specific company.

Corrections

If you find an error, email us with the page and what looks wrong. We will review it and update the page when a correction is warranted.
